What Club Rotario Los Barriles Cabo Este

Does for the Communities of East Cape

Locally, Club Rotario Los Barriles has carried out projects in Santiago, La Ribera, Los Barriles, El Cardonal, El Campamento, San Antonio, 1) providing filters to outlying areas so they can make their own clean water; 2) hurricane relief; 3) paying for & rehabbing educational needs like computer centers & dormitories; 4) working with East Cape Health Center & local DIF offices to give health screenings & free medicines to school children & their families (no one is turned away); 5) providing improvements & updated equipment to Centro de Salud here in LB; 6) making the El Ancon Sports Complex & Laguna Park in Los Barriles a reality with stage, bathroom & light improvements; 7) helping with food banks; and 8) organizing special cultural events like the Day of the Dead festivities, the Spring Parade, Earth Day & Children's Day. On more than a few of these projects Club Rotario Los Barriles has joined forces with other clubs across the United States & Canada who then travel here simply to roll up their sleeves and help with a particular project.

Local fundraising for the past few years has been focused on the Taste of East Cape Event held in December. In addition, we have received several significant international grants, donations from other clubs, and donations from individuals. With those precious funds, we carefully plan and carry out projects throughout the year. And as you can see, our brush strokes are wide in the East Cape Community. There are endless opportunities for leadership or just getting your hands dirty. We hope you will consider joining Club Rotario Los Barriles Cabo Este to help us continue the legacy of building goodwill and better friendships that benefit all the communities of East Cape. We have several projects planned for this year, and your help as a new member will assist in making it all happen. The club has made a commitment to our members to make our meetings seamless through Zoom, updating our website, and communicating in both English & Spanish.
