PLANT A TREE IN BUENA VISTA

Earth Day was celebrated in Buena Vista by a small group of people dedicated to protecting our planet. Eight citizens gathered behind the Buena Vista Elementary School equipped with gloves and shovels, and showed no fear of getting dirty. Together they planted twelve trees as a gesture of renewal for Buena Vista, for Mexico, for the world. Josefina Ruiz, President of our Los Barriles Rotary, spoke to those who gathered April 22^nd just before dusk. Her message was simple, but powerful. She told us we need to save Mother earth, and that day our way was to plant a tree. “We can contribute to the planet by doing little things, little things that reflect big changes if we all do it. Reuse. Recycle. Plant a tree.”

 

PLANTA UN ÁRBOL EN BUENA VISTA

El Día de la Tierra fue celebrado en Buena Vista por un pequeño grupo de personas dedicadas a proteger nuestro planeta. Ocho ciudadanos se reunieron detrás de la Escuela Primaria Buena Vista, equipados con guantes y palas, y no mostraron miedo a ensuciarse. Juntos plantaron doce árboles como un gesto de renovación para Buena Vista, para México, para el mundo. Josefina Ruiz, Presidenta de nuestro Rotary de Los Barriles, habló a los que se reunieron el 22 de abril justo antes del anochecer. Su mensaje era simple, pero poderoso. Ella nos dijo que necesitamos salvar a la madre tierra, y ese día nuestro camino era plantar un árbol. "Podemos contribuir al planeta haciendo pequeñas cosas, pequeñas cosas que reflejan grandes cambios si todos lo hacemos. Reutilizar. Reciclar. Planta un árbol."
